GRV Media Ltd is pleased to announce that it has hired another five football writers for its football vertical, making eight new hires in recent weeks.
Molly Burke joins GRV to work across a number of sites, but particularly Sunderland AFC News. Molly is a Sunderland fan and has worked in the online journalism space for over 5 years, working for Roker Report, Eleven Sports Media, and more recently, National World.
Jacob Hackett joins Vincent Ralph, Head of Sports Content Development, and his team at GRV, coming in as a general football writer. A recent graduate from the University of Derby, Jacob has had a number of internship roles in football journalism.
Also joining GRV fresh out of the University of Derby is Shaun Webbley. Shaun is a Manchester United fan, and will be working on United In Focus and HITC Football, reporting to GRV’s Global Head of Sports Content, Dan Coombs. Shaun had previous stints with Worcester News and working for the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
Will Jones joins GRV, having worked in the media for a number of years, primarily for Snack Media and Igniva Digital. He also has a background in film. Will will be a general football writer, reporting to Vincent Ralph.
And Rahul Lakhani joins GRV to work on Inter Miami News, Real FC News, and FC Barca News. Rahul spent the last two years working with Snack Media. He previously worked for SB Nation and Planet Football. He will report to John Verrall, GRV’s Deputy Global Head of Sports Content.
Dan Coombs said: ‘We have now hired eight new football writers over the last few weeks, underlining our commitment to this vertical. With eight of our football club sites hitting all-time record traffic highs in June, this is a very exciting time for this part of the business’.
Vince Ralph said: ‘We are launching 15 new football websites in the coming weeks. We will have specific sites for every Premier League club and many from the Championship. We are also beginning coverage of MLS and clubs in Saudi Arabia’.
