GRV Media Ltd is pleased to announce that it has hired Sam Tonks as Head of Social Media Engagement.
GRV embarked on a new social media strategy in January, and have seen group Facebook likes increase almost 15 times to over 2.2m. Football Facebook ‘reach’ currently exceeds 77m.
Sam joins from Snack Media, where he was a Social Media Editor, working on various sports websites, including GiveMeSport.
Sam said: ‘GRV Media is at a pivotal moment in terms of its social media strategy. The Group has some impressive Facebook reach and traction, together with talented teams of writers who are committed to engage with readers on social media. We feel we have really just scratched the surface’.
Dan Coombs, GRV’s Global Head of Sports Content, said: ‘We now have around 40 Facebook sports pages, and are seeing Likes increase by hundreds of thousands each month. We are really focused on building our football club communities, and see Facebook as an effective way of doing so’.
