GRV Media Makes Hires in Cricket, Rugby League, Rugby Union and Wrestling

GRV Media is pleased to announce that it has made new hires in four key sports verticals – cricket, rugby league, rugby union, and wrestling.

Toby Reynolds joins The Cricket Gazette. Toby’s previous experience includes stints as a cricket commentator with Dunham CCC, Northern Diamonds, and Southern Vipers. He has also freelanced for The Cricket Paper and Wisden Monthly.

John Verrall, GRV’s Deputy Global Head of Sports Content, said: ‘The Golfing Gazette and The Tennis Gazette are projected to hit 10m page views this month, an incredible achievement for websites less than 6 months old. Our focus now is on the development of The Cricket Gazette. We see no reason why we shouldn’t enjoy similar success with this website’.

Ricky Westaby joins TBR Rugby League and TBR Rugby, after writing for The Sports Gazette and working as a Communications Intern for Ealing Trailfinders Rugby Club.

Henry Ollis-Brown joins the TBR Rugby team. Henry recently graduated with a Masters in Sports Journalism from St Mary’s, Twickenham.

Rob McHugh, who heads up GRV Media’s rugby websites, said: ‘I’m delighted that Ricky and Henry have joined us, as we get the team in place. We’re looking for a journalist or two based in Australia now, as we broaden the scope of our rugby coverage. We are all very excited about the potential for these websites’.

And Liam McMillen joins the GRV stable of writers to cover wrestling for Bloody Slam. Liam is an experienced journalist and radio host, with a keen interest in and knowledge of wrestling.

Dan Coombs, GRV’s Global Head of Sports Content, said: ‘Bloody Elbow, our MMA website, has just come off its best 10 day period in its history with us, with 2.5m unique users consuming content on the site. Sister site Bloody Slam is already gaining some traction with viewers, and we are now increasing content production there. Liam is a great hire’.
