GRV Media Sells Entertainment Division to Digitalbox plc, Focuses on Sports Brands

GRV Media Ltd has sold its three remaining entertainment websites CelebrityTidbit.com,  RealityTidbit.com, TheFocus.news, and all associated IP to Digitalbox plc (AIM: DBOX), the mobile-first digital media business, which owns leading websites Entertainment Daily, The Daily Mash, The Poke, The Tab, TV Guide and Emmerdale Insider.

Vic Daniels, GRV Media’s Executive Chairman, said: ‘The company has pivoted to sports journalism over the last few years, with the recent roll-out of highly successful websites The Tennis Gazette, The Golfing Gazette and F1 Oversteer and the acquisitions of Bloody Elbow, NFL Analysis and NBA Analysis‘.

‘We have recently been looking to find a good home for our entertainment properties. I have known Digitalbox and its CEO, James Carter, for several years, and I know that we share the same values towards our people and our brands. I am delighted that we could make this sale happen, and look forward to seeing these websites thrive under their new ownership’.

James Carter, CEO, Digitalbox, said: ‘I am delighted to have come to this agreement with GRV, a business we have admired from a distance over recent years. The assets and staff will form part of the company’s expansion plans as we look to further establish our position as an entertainment powerhouse’.

GRV Media is Europe’s largest independent online sports publisher, with tens of millions of sports fans accessing content each month generated by over 40 group websites.
